How to Order : World Bank Group Employees

TIP: PRINT THESE INSTRUCTIONS for use while registering and ordering.

How to REGISTER:

  1. Click on "Please log in" in the left column.
  2. In the new customer area, enter your name and World Bank address (including office room number) and phone information.
  3. Enter your World Bank email address ( example = jsmith@worldbank.org or jsmith@ifc.org ) and a password.
  4. Enter your password again to confirm. Click "Submit".
  5. Click on "My account" in the left column.
  6. Click on "Membership Request" link.
  7. Choose "World Bank Employees" from the pull-down list. Click on "Request" button.
  8. Wait for an email indicating approval of your request for a discount. You should receive this email within a few U.S. business hours.

How to make an internal purchase with your OUI code:

  1. Login if you are not already recognized.
  2. Search, browse, and add items to your cart (internal prices will be shown if you are logged in)
  3. To change the number of copies ordered of a specific title, change the number in the "Qty" box (entering "0" will delete the item from your cart) and then click "Update Cart".
  4. When ready to check out, click on "Checkout" (have your 3 to 5 digit OUI code ready).
  5. Verify your shipping address or create a new address. Shipments can only be made to World Bank offices in Washington DC 20433 or to World Bank Country Offices (please do NOT use mail stop numbers...use either a room number or a country office address). Add any additional shipping instructions or requests. Click "Continue checkout".
    [Note: Shipping and handling charges are $8.00 per order, plus $0.50 per individual copy. If the items are to be shipped to a Country Office, the costs of pouch shipping will be added...$4.52 per pound.]
  6. On the payment information screen, enter your 3 to 5 digit OUI code. Click "Continue checkout".
  7. Review your order (NOTE that internal prices appear here) and click "Confirm the order".
  8. You should receive an email confirming your order information. If you have ordered on behalf of someone else, please be sure to forward a copy of the email to that person.
  9. Please note that all internal purchases are final and books cannot be returned for credit. Please allow 3-5 working days for delivery to World Bank Headquarters.

How to make a personal purchase with your credit card:

  1. Click "Please log in" and register with a personal (not worldbank.org or ifc.org) email address. DO NOT request membership in the World Bank Employees group.
  2. In the new customer area, enter your name and personal address and phone information.
  3. Enter your personal email address ( example = jsmith@yahoo.com or jsmith@gmail.com ) and a password.
  4. Enter your password again to confirm. Click "Submit"
  5. Search, browse, and add items to your cart.
  6. To change the number of copies ordered of a specific title, change the number in the "Qty" box (entering "0" will delete the item from your cart) and then click "Update Cart".
  7. When ready to check out, click on "Checkout" (have your credit card ready).
  8. Verify your shipping address or create a new address. Credit card purchases CANNOT be shipped to World Bank offices in Washington DC 20433. Add any additional shipping instructions or requests. Click "Continue checkout". [For US delivery, shipping and handling charges are $8.00 per order plus $1.00 per item; for airmail delivery outside the US, charges are $7.00 per order plus $6.00 per item.]
  9. Verify your billing address or create a new address. Click "Continue checkout".
  10. Review your order and click "Confirm your order" which will take you to PayPal’s credit card entry page.
  11. Enter your credit card information. Click "Continue". Click "I authorize this transaction". Click "Submit transaction for processing".
  12. To return to the publications site, click "View completed order".
  13. You should receive an email confirming your order information.
